“Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.”

— DEUTERONOMY 2:3

There comes a day like today and 100 days before it when I am bloody tired of circling the same mountain, moving the same pile of bricks, traveling the same road around and around observing the same scenery and encountering the same problems. In that moment when I turn to God and complain with bitter tears and frustration, HELP! He opens my eyes to a new road, a different path and he says “go, you are free.” His offer leads away from my familiar wheel. The only problem is I cannot see where it leads. I hesitantly decline and return to my grinding wheel. Why? Because I am scared then in that moment what God will ask of me, what faith will demand of me and what will truth reveal to me. Oh I am frustrated with this tedious mount that I have circled, and I have come to realize I will never go anywhere else until I am willing to let go of the familiar mountain and take a new road, risk it all and embark upon something new and unknown, unpredictable and dripping with possibilities. It may well be I will certainly die on this familiar mountain if I cannot learn to live on that unknown road.
