Corrie Ten Boom. Not many people have heard of this great woman. This strong and selfless woman. This beautiful God-fearing, people loving woman. Corrie lived in Amsterdam in the house of her father when she was middle aged, no children and no husband. she worked with her father as a watchmaker out of their home. In fact Corrie was the first woman to be licensed as a watchmaker. When World War 2 began and Jews were being arrested and taken to concentration camps, Corrie and her father began to hide them in her home, until they could find secret and safe passage out of Europe. They constructed an elaborate and deliberate plan to help all they could no matter the cost. How many of us can say that today? She was discovered and taken to Ravensbruck concentration camp. Both her Sister Betsy and father died but she survived. Later she traveled the world telling people about God’s great forgiveness. Her amazing self told story is called the HIDING PLACE. Christians often times have gotten a bad reputation, but if you are going to choose who to define as a christian start with this woman, who because of her love for Christ offered her life in place of many. This is the kind of woman you want to tell your children about when they ask what it means to be a christian.
